Description
This class complements and builds on the required writing program courses by strengthening skills in legal analysis, writing, and argumentation. It will also provide a deeper understanding of the U.S. legal system. Intensive writing exercises will strengthen students' ability to critically review their own and others' legal writing. Another objective of the course is generally to improve student tools for success in law school, such as briefing cases, taking exams, and writing research papers. This course is designed for upper division JD and second semester or later MSL, CSL and LLM, not for first semester 1Ls or first semester MSL, CSL and LLM students. This course is different from Adv. Legal Writing: Practice (LAW822), which involves practice performance tests similar to the performance tests used on the California Bar Exam."
