Description
Satisfies Experiential Learning.
This course is designed to help students understand facilitation within the legal context and to develop essential skills as facilitators. As the practice of law becomes more complex, attorneys are increasingly called upon to participate in collaborative efforts across a range of contexts, including strategic planning, policy development, coordination among teams, client interactions, decision-making in meetings, and more. Students will learn how to foster meaningful participation, equitable engagement, empathic dialogue, and productive discussions within such varied settings, while navigating diverse perspectives, power dynamics, and roles. These skills will prepare students to support collaborative efforts that result in outcomes that are more efficient, inclusive, just, and effective-whether they're acting as facilitators, leaders, or active participants.
