Description

May satisfy Writing Requirement. This course will introduce students to the law of natural resources, with an emphasis on federal statutes that govern access to and use of natural resources. The course will examine the historical and constitutional geography of American public lands and public federal public lands laws such as the National Forest Management Act, Federal Land Management & Policy Act, and National Park Service Organic Act. The course will also cover major federal natural resources statutes, including the National Environmental Policy Act, the Endangered Species Act, and Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation Act.
